The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) is an abbreviation of the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The directive was adopted by the EU, and took effect in July 2006. It restricts the use of six, specified hazardous materials (listed below) in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.
Following this, in June 2015, (EU) 2015/863 was publicly released to replace Annex II of 2011/65/EU. Four substances were added, bringing the total number of regulated substances to 10. |
